Mrs. Large's Second Graders Having Fun with Science and Reading

Mrs. Large’s class has been reading informational text in reading and crossing it over with science with camouflage.  The students are learning about the different animals that use camouflage and mimicry in order to survive.  They are also writing about an “Amazing Animal” of their choice.  The students are reading informational books about their animal and using a graphic organizer to help them organize their thoughts. From there, they are transforming their webs into sentences and are forming a 5 paragraph report on their animal.  They will go through the entire writing process and produce a finished piece.  The students will then share their reports with the class.  The students are doing a great job!
