The Kindergartners in Mrs. Childers’s class returned from winter break ready to learn and eager to practice their writing skills. They learned a new vocabulary word (resolution) and began talking about some of the resolutions people made at home for the coming year. After listening to the story, Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolution, students began brainstorming what might be a good New Year’s resolution here at school. As they thought about the promise they wanted to make to themselves to either better themselves or to help others, they began to write their own New Year’s resolution for the remaining school year. After editing, they were ready to create their New Year’s Resolution party hat! The best part they said was creating the face and hair to resemble each other. Now to stay focused on keeping those resolutions!!!!
