Dear Parents and Students:
It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again; the beginning of a new school year. The staff and I are excited to get this school year started! We are looking forward to strengthening our existing relationships, and fostering new ones with you and our new students to our district. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19h.
Parent’s your child’s education and safety is our highest priorities. Your enthusiasm and support helps us create a positive environment in which your child can achieve wonderful things. With the collaborative efforts of our staff members, students, and families, we are confident that we will succeed in providing a wonderful experience for your child.
As we strive to promote many of our valued traditions at Lockland, we are continually looking to improve the educational process and experience for our students and parents. Due to the fact that we are scheduling new students, we will not be able to make schedule “changes” the first week of school. If you are requesting a different course, please make an appointment with the counselor in the new College/Career Center before school, during your lunch or after school, to review possible changes to your schedule.
Lockland Middle & High School has several new staff members this year, joining our Lockland team: Mr. Chris Kloesz (Assistant Principal), Mrs. Mary Plona (Middle School Math/Social Studies); Mrs. Kimberly Perry (High School Science) Mr. Eddie Jarrett (High School Math) Mrs. Rose Glauberman(French) Brian Goudy (High School Social Studies) Mrs. Robin Ewing (MS/HS Administrative Assistant), and congratulations to our very own Mr. Adam Raby for his new position as Athletic Director.
To get the year rolling, we will have our annual Middle School & High School “Meet and Greet” on Monday, August 17th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. At the “Meet and Greet”, you will have an opportunity to pick up your schedule, meet your teachers, counselor and myself. And most importantly turn in all of your paperwork. Doors will open at 5:30 pm please enter the building through Door# 10 we will start promptly at 6:00pm in the Auditorium.
If you are unable to attend the “Meet and Greet” on the 17th, students should report to his/her first period class by 8:00 a.m. on August 19th. First period class lists will be posted on Door# 10 and Door# 5 and outside teacher’s classrooms.
It is a great responsibility and privilege to have your child with us that I do not take lightly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, and celebrations throughout the year. We look forward to working with you and your child.
