New Lockland High School Principal Assigned
Over the winter break, there was a change of command at the Lockland High School Principal's position. Mr. John Eckert has graciously agreed to take the head principal's responsibilities for the remainder of the school year upon Ben Hubbard's official retirement from the administrative world (again). Due to some health reasons, Mr. Hubbard reluctantly left his beloved staff and student body on December 17th to try to recover from complications he experienced last May. He has not resigned from head football coach however, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Mr. Eckert has been our middle school principal for the last two years. Mr. Eckert's wife, Tracy. is also a teacher in the Forest Hills district and he has two sons, Brogan and Brady. Mrs. Emily Stanyard has also agreed to assist Mr. Eckert with the high school responsibilities by serving as Dean of Students and Coordinator of the Credit Recovery Programs for the district.
During the November levy campaign the Board of Education and the administration received clear direction from the community regarding administrative costs. Many believe a small district can't afford our current level of administrative staff. Plans are being made this spring to consolidate positions and reduce administrative staff.
Thank you to Mr. Eckert and Mrs. Stanyard for stepping up to accept more responsibility in the spirit of keeping Lockland School District one of the best kept secrets in Cincinnati. Continued educational excellence and academic success is the goal of the Lockland Board of Education during these difficult financial times.
