No. 8 Lockland (7-3) at No. 1 Marion Local (8-2)

Marion Local, ranked fifth in the state, is in the playoffs for the seventh straight season, a streak that includes state championships in 2006 and 2007. The Flyers lost their opener against Lima Shawnee (a D-III school) in overtime and against defending state champion Delphos St. John’s in Week 9. Troy Homan and Justin Rutschilling have been steady leaders on a defense that held opponents to less than 10 points four times this season. Lockland survived a three-game losing streak from weeks 7-9 to advance to the postseason for the fifth straight year with a 39-14 defeat of Clark Montessori on Friday. The Panthers are hoping for better postseason results after suffering first-round shutout losses in the past two years.
