LES Students Strengthen Math Skills and Help Others

Students at Lockland Elementary School participated in the St. Jude's Math-a-thon to help raise money for St. Judes, an organization that seeks to eradicate childhood cancer and other childhood catastrophic diseases.  Mrs. Large organized the fundraiser so that students could experience the pleasure of helping others.   Students obtained sponsors and received pledges for solving age appropriate math problems.  Students aspired to raise $800 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Incredibly, a group of 12 students who range from kindergarten through 5th grade exceeded that goal and collected $945.26.  Three students decided to generously donate their prizes back to St. Jude's:  Kadijatou Sow, Reagan Blum, and Jake Harper.  Thank you to the following students for making a difference:
