On March 9, 2021, the Ohio School Board Association Southwest Region Virtual Spring Conference recognized Walter Farmer with the President’s Award for outstanding service.

Walt is a maintenance technician for Lockland Local School District and has been with the district for 16 years. He is a lifelong resident of the Village of Lockland and a member of the Lockland High School’s Class of 1985.

“Walt is quite possibly the most positive, caring, and giving man I have ever met. Whenever you see Walt, he is upbeat, smiling, and genuinely happy to serve those within the district and schools to the best of his ability each day,” said Lockland Superintendent Bob Longworth, who nominated Walt for the award.

Walt is a hard worker who never backs down from a challenge or the opportunity to improve someone's day. Walt is a staff and student favorite because his priority is to take care of everyone's needs so that teaching and learning in our schools is a positive experience.

Not only is Walt generous with his time and effort, but he has also paid for needed food, clothing for boys and girls, Christmas gifts, holiday meals, and household utility bills for families.

“Walt is a strong believer, and upon learning of this recognition, he was quick to say that all of the glory goes to God. Walt's faith is amongst the strongest of anyone I have ever met, and he strives to live his life in honor of Jesus Christ,” Bob Longworth added.

There truly is no limit to the generosity of Walter Farmer. He is a vital part of our Panther team and one of our many valued Lockland staff members who so passionately care for and educate our boys and girls!
