Due to the excessive heat, classes are canceled for Lockland students in grades 5 through 12 for the remainder of the week, Aug. 22-25, 2023. Students will return to school Monday, August 28, 2023. Classes will be held as scheduled in the air-conditioned Annex building for students in grades Pre-K through 4.
As you may be aware, the main campus, which houses grades 5 through 12, is not currently air-conditioned. As temperatures soar throughout the week, it will not be in the best interest of students or staff to hold class on the main campus for the remainder of the week.
Due to the construction project, all of Lockland’s main campus classrooms are currently housed on the second and third floors of the building. Room temperatures on these floors can quickly exceed the outdoor air temperature.
Again, all in-person learning for grades 5-12 is canceled for this week.
Anyone wanting to pick up their child early today, August 21, 2023, can do so.
