Lockland High School students recently had the opportunity to explore exciting career pathways in the construction industry by attending ACI Construction Career Day on May 6. This marks the third consecutive year Lockland students have participated in the highly regarded regional event.
Students were chaperoned by staff members Brandon Kamp, Kristin Gibson, and Anne Merrill as they joined thousands of students from across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana for a day of hands-on learning and career exploration.
Hosted annually by ACI Construction Career Days (CCD), the event is recognized as the largest construction-based career exploration and hiring event in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana - and one of the largest in the nation. More than 3,200 students from over 60 schools attended this year’s event, where they interacted with approximately 100 highly engaging commercial construction exhibitors.
Throughout the day, students had the chance to explore a wide variety of trades and career opportunities within the construction and skilled trades industries. They connected with top employers, educators, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs while participating in hands-on demonstrations and experiential activities.
Construction Career Day showcases the many facets of the built environment and helps students gain a deeper understanding of the rewarding opportunities available in skilled trades and construction-related careers.
Lockland Schools is proud to continue providing students with meaningful experiences that connect classroom learning to future career possibilities.
